This is a reconditioned welder. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like-new condition. Weld using Flux or MIG (with shielding gas) setting. Campbell Hausfeld MIG/Flux welders enable you to create industrial strength welds within minutes. Built-in gas liner and valve mean no additional parts are required, welder is MIG ready. Welder is equipped with four heat settings for optimal performance. Infinite wire speed control allows the adjustment for smooth, even weld beads. Great for new projects, or repairs. External Duty cycle 15 percent at 70 amps Use with 100 percent Argon Gas to weld aluminum and 75 percent Argon / 25 percent Carbon Dioxide gas to weld steel.

I've bought several factory reconditioned tools through Amazon com.
I've always been satisified.
This was no exception.Great price,works well.
The back cover was dented but that was it.

Took welder out of box and in doing so the lifting handle broke off its moorings. Oh well, don't really need that part, do I. Went to load wire and the retaining clamp came off. It had a broken base which must somehow have slipped by as the repairer was nodding off. So, a trip to the distant repair facility and a long wait for a fix or replacement and then a trip back to pick it up. Buyer beware and save all your paperwork your going to need it.

My efforts to use the flux core technique of welding have proved to be close to useless and the included spool of flux core wire was mostly used. The MIG technique of welding is considerably better but adjusting the intensity seems to be suspect, maybe more use will prove the product meets expectations. So far this product is close to being a failure.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son. He's the welder in the family and absolutely loves this machine. It is small enough to store easily and powerful enough to handle our welding needs. I will not hesitate to purchase related products in the future.
